one+2 artist studios – the largest not-for-profit fine art studio in NSW - is holding its annual open weekend for 2011.

The artists take this annual opportunity to generously donate to The Smith Family, building on a two-year association.

The exhibition offers a unique opportunity to meet around 50 artists in their working environment, to experience and chat about the art production process and to buy work direct. The variety of works includes large abstract oils, sculpture, exquisite glassware, ceramics, installation and mixed media.

You can buy direct from the artist in their space or from the group exhibition of medium sized works. Several of the artists will hold on-site demonstrations on how they build up their pieces.

Many of the one+2 artists are locally and internationally renowned and exhibit in some of Sydney’s most prestigious galleries. The eclectic group includes Sulman, Wynne, Portia Geach and Dobell Prize finalists, teachers at high profile art schools and colleges, and winners of numerous art prizes and awards.

Housed in a converted Rozelle warehouse, one+2 artist Studios has been operating since 1991, when it opened with just seven creative’s in residence. Today the studios house around 50 artists and continue to be a centre for creative talent in the inner west.
